COMMUNITY SERVICE

Reaching out into our communities is vital to our organization, developing relationships with community leaders, media, school faculty and local civic groups can greatly assist each post in achieving the VFW mission. Each year Post 5150 support our community with the following programs. 
 
1. Teacher of the Year
2. Voice of Democracy. An award given to a 9-12 grade student who submits a video essay. The 2021-22 theme is "America: Where Do We Go From Here?"
3. Patriots Pen. An award given to a 5-8 grade student who submits a written essay. The 2021-22 theme is "How Can I Be A Good American?"
4. Top Law Enforcement, Firefighter, EMS. Given each September 11th. 
5. Scout of the Year
6. Junior ROTC of the Year 
 
Additional we are partnered with the 253rd Military Police Company, Tennessee National Guard, to provide support for deployed Soldiers and family members.
